Profile

As a brand manager you will be responsible for the leadership of brands.

Your main responsibility will be to make something special out of the brand you are in charge of, to make it sought-after and to make it look better than other products.

To achieve this a brand manager attempts to understand the needs of consumers. Only with that knowledge can you build up attractive brands and gain consumers’ appreciation.

On this course you will learn to carefully synchronise all of the factors that make marketing successful.

Meet us

Brand management is a challenge which is as exciting as it is creative, and it extends throughout a brand’s entire value added chain:
from the development of new products, to the definition of prices, to the evolution of appropriate communication and sales strategies, all the way to providing customers with after-sale services.

On our Brand Management Bachelor’s course we will equip you with all of the marketing, management and leadership skills you will need for a successful career in a brand-name company.

While you are studying you will learn how to apply these skills in a number of practical projects. As well as providing you with all the relevant knowledge on the subject of brands, we will help you to develop your personal skills including teamwork capability, presentation techniques and self-organisation.

As a graduate of the Brand Management course you will enjoy numerous opportunities.
You can begin your career as a junior product, brand or marketing manager, or as a consultant at a marketing agency or management consultancy.

Thanks to the Brand Academy’s globally unique focus on brands as a success factor, as a graduate you will possess more than the usual knowledge of brands and management.
This will enable you to climb the career ladder quickly – whether as a product group manager, marketing manager or senior consultant. It’s up to you.

Course fees

As a leading state-recognised, privately owned university, the Brand Academy is financed exclusively through course fees.

Course fees for students from Germany and the EU:
650,- Euro per month,
890,- Euro one-off matriculation fee,
200,- Euro one-off examination fee.

Course fees for students from countries outside the EU:
890,- Euro per month,
2.300,- Euro one-off matriculation fee,
200,- Euro one-off examination fee.
Exceptions may be made for students who already have long-term residence permits for the EU.

Financing

We hope to enable every suitable candidate to study at the Brand Academy, regardless of their financial situation. For this reason we sponsor certain ‘Brand Talents’ with a scholarship from Semester 5 onwards.
You can also obtain finance under the Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz (‘BAföG’ or German Federal Educational Assistance Act). If you want to know anything about financing you should contact the Student Financing Advice Centre.
Students at the Brand Academy can also obtain financial support from foundations and financial institutions in Hamburg and further afield. At a national level there is the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) which offers the ‘KfW-Studienkredit’.

Brand Talent

For the new Brand Management programme (taught in English) we are awarding scholarships to outstanding applicants.

Scholarships are valid for the upcoming winter term 2018/19, starting on October 1st, 2018.

The application requirements

  • A certified copy of your higher education entrance qualification including a transcript of records.
  • Certificate of an internationally recognized language test on B2 level (e.g. TOEFL Internet- based minimum of 87 points, IELTS exam minimum of 5-6 points)
  • Processing the tasks for scholarship applicants – for more details ask our student advisory service.

Application

The application process follows the regular requirements.
You can apply for the scholarship by handing in all the required application documents, your work result of a given scholarship-task, and an additional motivation letter, indicating why you would be the perfect candidate for the Brand Academy scholarship.

Application deadline: August 15th, 2018.  
After we check your application documents and once you meet all the requirements, we will inform you about the further steps.

The requirement for admission is that you are qualified to enter a university (Abitur) or a university of applied sciences (Fachabitur). If you have the right prior experience you may be admitted to study without either of these qualifications.

You may begin the course in April or October.

As well as your CV and references, a very important aspect of your application will be your letter of motivation.
We place a lot of emphasis on forming high-quality, committed semester groups of students who complement and inspire one another. You will find more information about the application documents and formal requirements on the application form.

If they assess your application documents positively, our applicant manager Anna Prokhorenko and our course directors will look forward to getting to know you in a personal interview and finding out more about your own particular career so far, your specific aptitudes, and your personal aims which you wish to pursue in connection with the course. If your application interview is successful you will be admitted to study.
