New York Times selected Hamburg as a Top Travel Destination for 2017

No doubt, for us Hamburg is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
And for the Brand Academy it is the best location to be – directly on the Elbe River with the panoramic view on the harbour.

But this is not just our view, now the New York Times honoured the City of Hamburg too. The NYT published a ranking list for the most attractive travel destinations of the world under the heading “52 Places to Go in 2017”.

Our city Hamburg has not only managed to make it to 10th place, but it is also the only German city that was included in the ranking list. Hamburg has achieved a remarkable position in the list and overtook great places like Marrakesh (11), Greenville (12) and Stockholm (16).

NYT describes Hamburg as “the haven for architecture and design” and it is not without reason:
Elbphilharmonie – the 360-foot-tall glass structure atop an old warehouse, is one of the most expensive but at the same time unique buildings of the world, was opened this year. Zaha Hadid’s meandering promenade along the Elbe and the 19th-century Warehouse District, included in the Unesco World Heritage list, makes Hamburg to the city must-see for the travellers.

“Seeing once with your own eyes is worth more than hearing a hundred reports.” (Japanese proverb)
